Sunflowers – 14 acres of sunflowers

11 08 2017

Buttonwood Farm in Griswold, Connecticut is the place to go when you want awesome homemade ice cream and you want to bask in the glow of a 14 acres of sunflowers. Buttonwood Farm was named by Foursquare as one of the best places in to get ice cream in Connecticut. Back in 2003 the owners of the farm decided to plant an acre of sunflowers. Over the course of that year they found that people were driving from miles around just to look at the sunflowers and take pictures of them. At the end of the season they used the seeds for feed for their animals and today they not only use the seeds as feed but they sell bunches of sunflowers to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation.
Come view more than 14 acres of sunflowers in bloom, enjoy a hayride, and contribute to a wonderful cause. Don’t forget to try the sunflower ice cream – available only during this event.
Not only can you take photographs of sunflowers but you can experience a tractor drawn hayride daily from 11 am to dusk. The ride is 3/4 ths of a mile through cow pastures and 4 acres of the Buttonwood Farm sunflower fields in bloom.

Buttonwood Farm is located at 473 Shetucket Turnpike, Griswold, CT 06351

Boston Instagram Photo Walk

22 04 2017

Hello friends, today I went on a photo-walk thru Boston.
My friend Al known as @bklynborn81 came in from NYC as a guest speaker.
I was great fun to catch up with Al.
We meet for lunch took a few photos down by the water front before heading back to his hotel
to meet Siley.

From there we embarked on a photo walk through the streets of Beacon Hill
to shoot the beautiful sights of a historic Boston neighborhood
and take a few portraits of each other.

The walk concluded across the Longfellow Bridge for sunset shots over the Charles River.
and just as we were talking about not getting that sunset due to the all day weather
the clouds started to open up to let the beautiful red sunset sky come through as the
sunset over Boston.

A few of us ended up at Cheers for dinner, you know that place
“Where Everyone Knows Your Name.

It was a great day to enhance our photography skills,
take beautiful pictures with some of Boston’s most talented photographers and to meet some new friends. Well done to the group.

And to end it all my friends Al was dancing with the sky, the sunset over Boston.
