We had the opportunity to take a day trip to Qgunquit Maine. We have visited this area many times over the years. We on this day we had to as always make a stop at Flo’s Hot Dog road side stand Cape Neddick, Maine. We have been coming here for years now. The Steamed buns, snappy dogs and Flo’s own family relish really hit the spot, We always bring a bottle of the special relish home with us.
After lunch we continued the short drive to Ogunquit were, like always took some photographs along the Maine coast. We walked the one mile long walk along the Marginal Way. A very beautiful walk along the coast till we got to Perkins Cove. As it just started to rain we stopped into Barnacle Billy’s for a drink. Barnacle Billy’s looks over Perkins Cove, with all the boats and hand operated foot bridge. We took some more photos and had a great time.
We chose to move further into Perkins Cove to the Lobster Shack as this has special meaning for us. It’s the place where I had my first ever lobster so many years ago. On this day we chose to have a lobster roll. So good served with chips and coleslaw.
After dinner and as we were approaching sunset we made our way to Cape Neddick and to Nubbles Light House. Took many more photos of the light house as the red light house beacon flashed on and off.
Before we hit the road for our ride home we had to make one more stop in York Maine and to purchase some Goldenrod kisses. Salt Water Taffy.
We had a great day in Maine as always. Please enjoy a few of the photographs from our day in Maine.
