27 08 2017

The North End Festival is a yearly event that Begun in 1919, by Italian immigrants from the small town of Montefalcione in Avellino, Saint Anthony’s Feast has become the largest Italian Religious Festival in New England. Named the “Feast of all Feasts” by National Geographic Magazine, this authentic Italian street festival has it all for people of every age: parades, strolling singers, live entertainment, contests and religious services are held daily.

We started our day by having lunch at World Famous Regina Pizzeria. And as luck would have it Wally (The Boston Red Sox Mascot made an appearance. Did you know that Regina Pizzeria is now the Official Pizza of the Boston Red Sox and they couldn’t be more honored! This exciting new partnership between Boston’s Favorite Baseball team and Boston’s Brickoven Pizza! Wally made sure to visit every table inside and outside taking photos with everyone. What a fun time!

There was so much to eat including that favorite pastry The Cannoli.

We stopped into a local pub for some refreshments, had a great conversation with some local people and folks visiting Boston. Got into a conversation with a lady the is retiring next week that was looking for something to do. She has many talents including cooking and photography/video. I suggested to her why not marry those two interests and start you own cooking show or block. She love the idea and her brain was already spinning. She thanked me for the idea and we moved on.

We walked through Paul Revere Park right by the Old North Church. Took in a tour of how an old printing press functioned and watched A Declaration was printed, We watched an other demonstration on how chocolate was made in the 1700’s and even had a taste. We took many photos during the day and had a lot of fun.

How was your weekend?
