Nobuyuki-san – Master Craftsman, Artist, Photographer and Friend
I meet Nobuyuki-san (Nobuyuki Takahashi) about 10 years ago during a visit to Yonezawa, Yamagata, Japan.
Ever since then I make it a point to visit my friend and share stories over a cup of coffee in his home studio.
Nobuyuki-san has been carving Otakapoppo for 35 years now and highly recognized in Japan and around the world for his craftsmanship skills. Although Nobuyuki-san pieces are simple, it takes a great deal of skill to create objects of the highest quality. His travels took him to Disneyland in Calif., on six different occasions, where his demonstrations were popular and onlookers were full of curiosity as they watched him create a bird with a layer of beautiful feathers using only his chisel and a log. On this visit and with Nobuyuki-san permission we created this video to highlight some of his great skills including his wood carving of-course, his art, photography, calligraphy, and music. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I had visiting him.
I had the opportunity to attend the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Tokyo and had the honor to be invited to the last show of the week by designer Ace Creation who highlighted his 2016 collection. The show opened up with a spotlight on a white balloon. When the balloon pop’d there was a robot on stage. A small girl toughed the robot to make it come alive to introduce the show. The runway event was followed by a private designers cocktail reception I also attended.

Kohji : He won JFW New Designer Fashion Grand Prix and Yumi Katsura award, and many other Grand Prix won. Then, go to England and won the grand prize in Kobe fashion contest. Learn the collection made in Nottingham Trent University, And returned to Japan after participating in the London Graduate Fashion Week.
After that, He Launch the fashion brand ” KoH T” .
He has continued to make presentations around the world mainly in Tokyo, London, and Vancouver.

What is “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO” ?
“Fashion Week” is a fashion festival held twice a year in the world’s fashion cities during which the trends for the next season are born from the latest collections that are unveiled at fashion shows and exhibitions.
Out of the world’s fashion weeks, those held in Paris, Milan, London, New York and Tokyo are regarded as having the most potential for disseminating information due to their history and the amount of buzz surrounding them. These five fashion weeks are the most known fashion weeks in the world and have much influence of the fashion world.
The fashion week held in Tokyo is the “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO (MBFWT)”. It is hosted by the Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFW Organization) and held twice a year on March and October.
