Her focus is capturing her subjects in the most authentic, natural and respectful light. Her day to day work consists of creating captivating business portraits. Her passion is traveling to third world countries to document the lives of people living on the fringe. Nancy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience around photographing people in all different kinds of life situations. Nancy’s experience includes 12 years of a portrait business. 2 years as president of the Commercial Industrial Photographers of NE, photo documentary projects in: Cuba, Cambodia, Ecuador & Mexico, and, she’s studied with some really cool national and internationally known photographers. Paddle and hike along with Peter Baumgarten, Olympus Visionary as he discusses the challenges and joys of outdoor photography, including tips and techniques to improve your landscape, macro, and wildlife photography. Bio – Peter is a professional photographer and educator living on Manitoulin Island in Northern Ontario. He regularly leads photography courses and workshops for novice and enthusiast photographers and travels across North America as an Olympus Visionary providing lectures and seminars on landscape, wildlife, and astrophotography. His work has been published in a number of magazines in both Canada and the U.S. and has been recognized for excellence on a number of photography websites. Peter is an avid outdoor enthusiast with a passion for wilderness camping, canoeing and kayaking.

As photographers sometimes we’re asked, how did you do that? Where was that picture photographed, what camera did you use? Well here’s the secret. Ready? Everything matters. Non of it matters. It’s all about what you want to do. Do you like what you’re seeing now, right in front of you? Do you want to capture that image? That memory? That moment in time? Whats the best camera to use? Whats the best lens to use? What manual camera setting shall one use to capture exactly what your seeing in front of you? Some may not be a photographer or understand all of that photographer stuff. Or, are we all photographers? With todays technology in our pocket all the time, maybe thats the best camera to use. With all the available apps we also have a studio in our pocket. How do you choose to use it? Maybe, your pocket device, your phone is the best camera to use. Sometimes I shoot and process my images on my phone. Do you? There’s no excuse not to capture that moment in time, capture that memory for yourself, or share it with your friends and family, or share it with the world. Yes, sometimes the best camera to use is the one you have with you. I shoot on my phone!
