From around the world I meet karolien soete today who supersized me beyond belief…

Meet my new friend karolien soete from Belgium who I meet today in a Blab live interactive video space. We started talking and sharing things we enjoy and what we do. Come to find out the Karolien is an artist. Some of my favorite people. I love the creativity and joy she brings with her everywhere she goes.

My dad was an artist and my youngest son is doing some amazing things with art and technology as a Snapchat artist and story teller. So you know my interest runs deep.

Back to Karolien, “From an early age, when still in grammar school, she knew that she wanted to be an artist,” Karolien works today as an artist and I would encourage you all to follow her Karolien and her work (see links below). From The Talking Walls Project (A life-size animation) painted directly on a wall of the company or the location is key for verbal contribution of the employees or citizens and is essential to its creation… You can learn more here:http://ksoete.com/about-2.html

Purgatory Chasm

19 10 2014

We had the opportunity to visit this natural resource. We when for the hike hoping to capture some foliage photographs as we are in the Autumn season. And we did. It was a great day in this amazing place. If you do a little research I’m sure no mater where you live you can find some place interesting to enjoy the sights and sounds and even capture a few photographs of your own. Enjoying Life!

Purgatory Chasm is a State Reservation.

A unique natural landmark, Purgatory Chasm runs for a quarter of a mile between granite walls rising as high as 70 feet. Popular with picnickers and rock-climbers alike, the Chasm is believed to have its origin in the sudden release of dammed-up glacial meltwater near the end of the last Ice Age, approximately 14,000 years ago.

Trails lead to a wide variety of rock formations, with romantic names as The Corn Crib, The Coffin, The Pulpit, Lovers’ Leap and Fat Man’s Misery.

The move was created completely using Google+ auto awesome movie maker functions including the music and translations. Also it was composed completely from my Android smart phone and uploaded to YouTube.

West End Creamery & Family Farm

19 10 2014

West End Creamery & Family Farm is located just a stone’s throw from Route 146—between Worcester, MA and Providence, RI. They are down the hill from Purgatory Chasm State Park. Many come just to relax and enjoy an ice cream cone on our large outdoor deck overlooking Swans Pond. Others spend time with friends on our premier miniature golf course and finding adventure in our 5 acre corn maze in the Fall.

Come in to West End Creamery and stay a while. Absorb yourself in the charm of our post and beam building — solid oak timbers and decor from our dairying days. The waterfront property is a relaxing destination for all ages!

Injoy the fall adventure and corn maze with the family.

Blackstone River

19 10 2014

On a ride back from visiting Purgatory Chasm and the West End Creamery we stopped off to see the Blackstone River area. In this area what used to be a factory is now living spaces and condos. Along the river banks is both a walking and bike path. This time of year as the leaves are changing in New England the repletions on the river was very nice and worth a few photographs.

Street Art

25 06 2014

There was a downtown festival were I had the opportunity to watch and enjoy these artists. Remember when you were young and drew all kinds of things on the sidewalk with chalk to only watch the rain wash it away? Well these people are taking drawing on the sidewalk to a different level. Here’s part of that day I preserved in photos.

Sand and Water – National Sand Sculpting Festival with Bruce Garber

21 07 2013

National Sand Sculpting Festival
Revere Beach, July 19 – 21, 2013

Revere Beach is located six miles north of downtown Boston.

In 2004, the first New England Sand Sculpting Festival was held. The annual contest soon offered cash prizes, which attracted famous sculptors from all over the world. This year’s tournament is taking place from Friday July 19th to Sunday July 21st 2013, near the bandstand on Revere Beach Boulevard.

The artists adhere to strict rules during the contest. Each sculptor is given 10 tons of sand and are assigned an 18′ x 18′ square exhibit area. Work by the artists is limited to 24 hours in total length, which is spread out over several days. Forms for molding components are allowed and must be removed prior to the artworks being rated by the judges. The sand sculptures are evaluated using four categories: (1) degree of difficulty, (2) originality and creativity, (3) quality of sculpting, and (4) overall visual impact. Thousands of dollars in prize money are offered each year, which garners some of the best artists in the nation to the festival. The New England Sand Sculpting event draws a lot of people to Revere Beach, and has increased the appeal of visiting this local attraction.

sub-notes:
The live streamed video broadcast was not the best video quality do to signal strength and bandwidth from this location however, it’s a great example of the work we’re doing to “walk the walk for those who can’t” via http://virtualphotowalks.org . We take people with disabilities to different locations around the world with the help from our generous photographer friends and enabled smartphones. Today it was my pleasure to take a few friends to the beach to see these wonderful sand sculptures.
